Jenni Hayman is a passionate advocate for well-designed online education. She is currently the Executive Director of Wide World Ed, Canada’s first open, online education provider. Jenni believes that learning should be accessible, engaging and effective for everyone.  Starting September 30, Jenni and a team of instructors their first massive open online course (MOOC) called Online Instruction for Open Educators on the Desire2Learn Open Courses platform. In the winter 2014 session Jenni will be delivering DIY-PLE: Do-It-Yourself Personal Learning Environments with Canadian instructors Stephen Downes and Rita Kop, and Open Course Design Using Open Tools in the spring.

As a higher education instructional designer, Jenni has co-developed over 65 online courses in the past three years. She has just completed her Masters of Education at Athabasca University focusing her thesis on Essential Practices for Online Instruction. Jenni is a frequent conference presenter and will be touring Canada this fall and winter encouraging dialogue with faculty and administrators about the importance of an open online education strategy as a core element of higher education research and innovation for the future.
